Baby Girl Ford Quilt

Mylee wanted to lend a helping paw

One of my best friends from college had a baby shower a week ago and I really wanted to make her a homemade gift! She's going to be having a baby girl in February, and I thought a quilt would do the trick.

Ever since Darby could start to feel her baby in the womb, she's been quite the animated babe :) From her dancing around while Darby eats, to her boxing during ultrasounds, to one of Darby's patients (she is a DO resident) feeling the baby kick him/her during an assessment, she is quite the bubbly, interactive girl!

I thought Dana Willard's Boardwalk Delight collection for Art Gallery Fabrics would be quite fitting. It's bright, pure colors and ice cream theme all suit Baby Wild Girl Ford.

This is an original design, if you will ;) I had bought the fat quarter pack with coordinating fabrics from Llama Fabrics (on Etsy) before I really knew what I was going to do with it. I then made as many Ohio Stars as I could (14 total) from what I had. And since I love busy backgrounds, I went ahead and ordered more of the "Ice Cream Shop" Print and filled in all of the extra spaces that I needed to make the size quilt that I wanted. I know- very scientific LOL.

I used Quilter's Dream Angel batting again, and it did not disappoint. It has become my new favorite. Between the batting and the less dense quilting (I just stitched in the ditch around each star), it  drapes wonderfully and I think it will provide some good cuddles!
